You might be asked to pay a portion of the cost for your services. How much you contribute will depend on: The kind of supports you receive Your individual financial circumstances Any remaining amount is covered by government funding, which helps keep your care more affordable. Service Contributions Your contribution amount depends on the type of services you receive: Clinical Support – No contribution required. Includes nursing, allied health, and medication management. Independence Services – Moderate contribution. Covers personal care, home modifications, transport, social support, and respite. Everyday Living Services – Higher contribution. Includes shopping support, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and gardening. Financial Situation Your income and assets help determine your contribution: Full Age Pensioner – Minimum contribution Part Pensioner / Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holder – Moderate contribution Self-Funded Retiree – Higher contribution Services Australia assesses your exact rate (e.g., full pensioners pay 0% clinical / 5% independence / 17.5% everyday living; higher earners pay more up to 50–80%).
