Support at Home Programme
The Australian Government is updating the aged care services:
From 1 November 2025: The New Support at Home Program will replace the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme.
From 1 July 2027 (at earliest): Commonwealth Home Support Programme transitions to the new program.

What is the Support at Home Program?
The Support at Home Program is Australia’s new aged care model designed to replace the current Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) programs. It offers flexible, quarterly funded care tailored to your individual needs and circumstances.
Support Categories
Your individual support plan is divided into three key categories, ensuring holistic care across all areas of your life:

Quarterly Budget Levels (Indicative)
Depending on your assessed level of need, you may be allocated one of eight budget levels, released every quarter:

Peace of mind

The Support at Home Program helps older Australians (over 65, or over 50 for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people) stay independent by funding help with daily tasks like cleaning, gardening, personal care, and social support. 完成综合评估。
An ACAT Assessor will visit you in your home and run through a range of questions to help them understand your current situation. It’s a great idea to be prepared for these questions – write down a list of all the things that you are struggling with and finding difficult. Don’t try and put on your “best face”, talk honestly about your needs so that you can get the help you deserve. Additionally, if you receive informal support, for example, from family members, write down what you wouldn’t be able to do if they weren’t there to help you.
